Anastasia has had an interest in photography since her childhood in the Pacific Northwest. She documented much of her early life on film, stating she wanted to be a "camera-tician" and travel the world. In high school she was introduced to the darkroom and a seed was planted that would start to grow almost ten years later when she was given a SLR camera and began taking classes.
Since then Anastasia has continued her exploration of photography—through taking her own photographs, attending classes and lectures, viewing exhibitions at galleries and museums, as well as reading and studying about the great photographers of the past and present.
After years of living in San Francisco and various other locales in Northern California, Anastasia (together with her significant other Jay Fienberg and their cat Nikita) moved to Seattle in August 2004 where she now lives within 1 mile of where she was born!
